Access control
The buildings of the University of Graz are open from Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Access authorizations by means of keys or in digital form are generally only issued to employees of the University of Graz or to persons to whom access is expressly granted.
These are issued by the doormen/doorwomen against signature. Keys may not be passed on to third parties.
Keys can be borrowed for a short time from the porter's lodge.
Hot work
For all work where there is a possibility of triggering the fire alarm system (e.g. smoke, water vapor, dust, etc.), a permit must be obtained and the shutdown must be reported to the porter's lodge before work begins.
The form to be completed can be found here:Permit for hot work
In order to avoid false alarms, the volunteer fire department must be informed on 0316/380-2222 before starting work involving the generation of dust!
Instructions
Work may only be commenced after instruction has been given!
External employees (e.g. cleaning staff, service technicians, etc.) working at the University of Graz must be instructed about existing hazards and safe practices.
For areas with an increased safety risk, the respective responsible person (e.g. laboratory management, workshop management) is the first point of contact for instruction documents and special features. Please inform yourself in advance!
Adequate and comprehensible instruction is an essential basis for health and safety at the workplace. Effective occupational health and safety can only be achieved with the cooperation of all those involved.
It must be demonstrably and regularly carried out. If necessary, employees must be provided with written instructions.
