Rescue
Rescue people before fighting the fire:
- Get yourself and anyone in need of help out of the danger zone immediately
- Do not let people with burning clothing run away
Extinguishing
The rapid and correct use of small extinguishers can prevent large fires from breaking out:
- Remove objects not caught by the fire
- Always close doors when leaving the fire room
- Do not ventilate the fire room
- Keep all doors in the fire compartment closed - especially to the stairwell
- Switch off air conditioning and ventilation systems, check fire dampers
- Shut off gas and oil heating systems
- Observe surroundings, watch out for flying sparks
If you cannot escape:
- Keep calm
- Open a window and wait there for the emergency services
- Make yourself noticed
- Wait until the emergency services get you out of the house, do not jump out of the window under any circumstances.
