Rescue

Rescue people before fighting the fire:

• Get yourself and anyone in need of help out of the danger zone immediately
• Do not let people with burning clothing run away

Extinguishing

The rapid and correct use of small extinguishers can prevent large fires from breaking out:

• Remove objects not caught by the fire
• Always close doors when leaving the fire room
• Do not ventilate the fire room
• Keep all doors in the fire compartment closed - especially to the stairwell
• Switch off air conditioning and ventilation systems, check fire dampers
• Shut off gas and oil heating systems
• Observe surroundings, watch out for flying sparks

 

If you cannot escape:

• Keep calm
• Open a window and wait there for the emergency services
• Make yourself noticed
• Wait until the emergency services get you out of the house, do not jump out of the window under any circumstances.
